Games and activities included tug-o-war competitions for juniors and adults, swim relays and pool team events.
The jumping castle made its Australia Day debut and the “thong in the esky” throwing competition was a hit with kids.
Roxby Downs cultural services manager Bernie Kinnaird said the day was an “absolute success”.
“We had a lot of participation in the games and events from little kids to adults who all took part.
“It was good to see the different age groups having a go which is really what Australia Day is all about.”
“We focused a lot on participation this year and not so much prizes. The numbers were very good a lot of people came down and had a great time and the staff have received some really positive feedback about the day. Now we’re looking at how we can improve on it even more next year.
“Thanks everyone for coming down and having a great day, next year we hope it will be even bigger and better.
“Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who helped out on the day and a big special thanks to Graham Warren, MC extraordinaire who really got the crowd involved and did a wonderful job.”
