Getting ready for the heat

Surviving the heat is nothing new to Roxby locals.

A summer in Roxby Downs can be overpowering and while many are aware of how quickly heat can affect us, it’s pertinent to remind ourselves of how quickly things can go wrong.

SA Ambulance team leader Lee Dale and volunteer team leader Dawn Kroemer suggested simple yet effective actions we can take to ensure we survive the heat this summer.

“Obviously if people are out and about, keep in mind the old ‘Slip, Slop, Slap’ stuff – shirt, sunscreen and a hat, and if you’re going anywhere make sure you’ve got some water with you,” Mr Dale said.

“Preparation is important before you go out – make sure the kids are well hydrated.
