Santa causing a jam

11 Jan, 2012 02:36 PM
The streets of Roxby have been lighting up for Christmas – the bright colours and flashing bulbs are a joy to see.

But the word on the street is people have once again spotted Santa in Roxby Downs, as they have done over the past four years, sitting in his sleigh on Irrapatana Street handing out lollies to the kids - and this year he’s been busier than ever.

For most nights in December at about 8.30pm, Santa has arrived in his magical sleigh and the kids gather for a photo with the big guy.

Nicknamed Santa Jack by residents, he enjoys himself so much he’s roped in resident Jack Hallett’s son and daughter as an elf and a fairy to help manage the event.

“The elf knows all the kids around here so I have to make sure he doesn’t get sidetracked and run off with them – he’s a busy little elf,” Santa Jack laughed.

Mr Hallett joked that the kids don’t have much choice in the matter.
