Australian comedy duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee visited Roxby Downs, Woomera and Andamooka last week en route to Darwin.
The comedy duo called in at ROX FM to meet local teenagers and chat with community members.
They also recorded a promotion with local DJ Casey Potts.
A round of the sporting car club circuits was completed by the two, before going live to air on a national broadcast with ROX FM coordinator Kristina Meredith.
Ms Meredith said both Hamish and Andy were quite taken back by the heat, which they made considerable mention of in their show.
They also spent time recounting the last 24 hour leg of their journey, which included commentary on Hamish's run-in with a sheep shearer and also a dingo trap, Ms Meredith said.
She said they enjoyed meeting the locals and checking out the town.
“Everything was new and exciting to them, which meant that everything could also be subject to the occasional pun,” Ms Meredith said.
Ms Meredith joined Hamish and Andy on their radio show and gave a local insight into Roxby's news and gossip.
“Understandably, what makes news in Roxby might not even be worthy of a mention in a big city, and so it was interesting to see how the stories were received from a metropolitan perspective,” she said.
“From a community radio point of view, it was really interesting to see how commercial radio works and how professional radio personalities present themselves on air.
“The experience gave myself and fellow ROX FM volunteers plenty of ideas and tips to take back to the station with us," she said.
