Hordes of Elvii

02 Feb, 2012 07:55 AM
Elvis may have left the building back in 1977, but he was alive and well in Parkes NSW this year, he’s gone and multiplied by the thousands.

Roxby resident Kerryn Jones attended the CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival two weeks ago as Priscilla Presley and became an instant hit amongst the collective Elvii.

On Ms Jones’ arrival to Parkes, her home town, she stopped for a quick snapshot in front of the giant sign when suddenly a car pulled up, eight Elvii jumped out and got into the act.

“It was so cool,” Ms Jones said.

“They picked me up and I lied across their arms like a star.”

The group featured a bearded Elvis and a dreadlocked Elvis.

Parkes crawled with Elvii which ranged in quality.

“There were some very good Elvii and some very bad Elvii,” Ms Jones joked.
