The Dunes Café is providing Roxby Downs residents with the perfect excuse to indulge their sweet tooth.
On Thursdays you can have your cake and eat it too, because every cent you spend on the sweet stuff goes to cancer support and research.
It is part of the Roxby Downs Cultural and Leisure Precinct’s fundraising effort for the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life.
With the help of “Sweet-tooth Thursdays” and other money-raising initiatives they have already surpassed their $1000 fundraising goal, two months out from the October 16 event.
“We think we could probably double it,” said the centre’s businesses administration assistant Lauren Esposito.
“I think cancer is such a big thing now, I think everyone has been touched, whether it be a family member or friend.”
Already seven teams have joined Roxby Down’s Relay for Life efforts and more than $4000 has been raised.
The teams have set an ambitious combined fundraising target of almost $70,000.
