Setting up a community choir

09 Feb, 2012 11:18 AM
Dr Owen Lewis, a talented general practitioner and equally talented musician, has recently been busy organising a Sing Australia workshop in an effort to establish a Roxby Downs Community Choir.

The workshop has been scheduled for Sunday February 19, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Community Church building.

Founder of Sing Australia Colin Slater, who has spent a number of years visiting communities across Australia and starting choirs, will be attending the workshop to demonstrate the ease and effectiveness of the Sing Australia program.

“The program has helped to give communities something positive to assist in working through the drought relief and other hardships,” Dr Lewis said.

“Apart from inaugurating new choirs through these workshops, membership within the organisation also provides us with the use of song books.
