Who will benefit?

Word on the street moves from conversation to conversation about the BHP Billiton developments and its benefits to Roxby Downs.

The developments are happening at Roxby Village as more units and service blocks are planned to be constructed over the next twelve months in a project worth over $27 million.

Yet the question on most lips within the retail trading sector is the potential losses in economic growth and stability due to the plan to house workers at Hiltaba Village between Andamooka and Roxby Downs, rather than build the village closer to the main service town.

Local trader Jill Koning said it doesn’t take much to help her store and that even a few extra items sold a week would count for a lot.
