Six young Roxby Downs locals were selected for state basketball teams last week after a gruelling two day try out process in Adelaide and Murray Bridge.
Maddy Young, Jordan Christall, Bailey Evans, Shaun King, Adam Ryan and Darcy Kenny were all successful in gaining a placement in their respective state teams.
Maddy said she was very happy and excited to be selected and was very nervous during the process.
“There were 60 girls registered for tryouts and they were all lined up out of the door because there were so many,” Maddy said.
“They cut it down from 60 to 24, and then selected two teams of 10 with two reserves for each team.”
