Roxby outshines the finest

27 Jan, 2012 10:16 AM
Last Saturday, Roxby Downs Cricket Association played against Whyalla’s finest at Whyalla’s Memorial Oval.

It was a match well anticipated - both teams were gearing up for a tough challenge.

The Whyalla team, the Transpacific First XI, were using the match to prepare for their upcoming trip to Adelaide to play against the best in country South Australia, but it seemed the best were about to arrive.

Whyalla could not have foreseen the blitz that came with Roxby’s domination over the leather.

The match started under perfect weather conditions with Whyalla’s captain Scott Collison winning the toss and choosing to bat.

Openers Scott Collison and Brad Smith were caught, bowled by Travis Capper within the first 4.5 overs with 21 runs on the board – Roxby Downs were pleased.
