Roxby team to compete in carnival

09 Feb, 2012 11:21 AM
The Roxby Downs Cricket Association (RDCA) travel to Adelaide next week to play against five other country South Australian cricket teams in the Senior Country Cricket Carnival.

The carnival provides an opportunity for Roxby Downs cricketers to experience playing at Adelaide venues and to test their skills against the best cricketers from all over the state.

Roxby Downs team selector Graham Warren said the Roxby players take their cricket very seriously and were looking forward to the carnival.

“We’ll play all over Adelaide; up north and down south, against a different team each day,” Mr Warren said.

“Eighteen teams from South Australian country areas are playing this year in five days of 52 over games, 52 overs on each team, that means 104 overs in one game; after five days of 52 over games the players will end up a bit tired sore by Friday,” Mr Warren said.
