The Roxby Downs Cricket Association round three Olympic Dam versus Andamooka match was a day/nighter played at Woomera.
Olympic Dam won the toss and decided to bat first sending Andamooka out to field in the 39C heat.
Andamooka players were sporting their new shirts for the first time and this seemed to have a positive affect with three early wickets to have Olympic Dam reeling at 3 for 24.
Harris had a good opening-bowling spell and was responsible for two of the three early wickets. Olympic Dam steadied however when Botes came to the crease and a solid partnership was developed before the next wicket was taken at 107.
Botes continued to bat well making 79 before getting out to a good catch by Lucas in the deep.
Leonard, 34 not out, and Stacy 23 also put in solid batting performances.
Andamooka wilted slightly in the heat towards the end allowing Olympic Dam to post a solid 6/207 after the full 40 overs.
Botes continued his good batting form with the ball taking three early wickets to have Andamooka 4/15.
It looked like it could be an early night, but to Andamooka’s credit they steadied and dug their heels in. Millard provided some resistance to the bowlers scoring a solid 37 before getting caught.
Andamooka were unable to gain the momentum required to overcome Olympic Dam’s score and wickets continued to fall at a steady pace.
Morgan came in at number 10 but played like a top order batsman scoring 15 runs in quick succession before running out of partners.
Andamooka were all out for 101 but almost managed to see out the 40 overs, falling short in the 38th.
