Olympic Dam footballer Daniel Rogers took out prestigious Woomera and Districts Football League’s Mail Medal this year, with a total of 30 points.

Held last Saturday night at Olympic Dam Football Club, the Mail Medal was awarded to the best and fairest footballer according to the umpires each week of the season.

The runner up was a tie between Scott Montgomerie from Olympic Dam and Damien Smith from Hornridge on 22 points.

The Under 21 winner was Cody Kenny from Roxby Districts on 21 points, the leading goal kicker was Scott Montgomerie from Olympic Dam on 34 goals, while the Golden Whistle was awarded to Andrew Fyfe and the Umpires Encouragement Award was given to Shaun King.

About 120 attended the League’s night of nights and according to the League’s secretary Bev Zeptner, was a great event.

“It was well attended, it was run well and all things went smoothly and it was enjoyed by most,” she said.
