Wanderers 8/132 defeated Olympic Dam 36
Wanderers has remained undefeated in two matches following its humiliation of Olympic Dam by 96 runs at Roxby Downs on Sunday morning.
Wanderers sent the pundits scurrying for the record books to see if 36 is the lowest score ever by the Devils.
Star of the show was undoubtedly Ryan Paxton, who took the new ball from the southern end and returned the figures of 7/14 from eight overs.
One of which was a maiden and his spell included the wickets of Allan Woolford and Wayne Moroney.
In taking nothing away from Ryan's superb effort, the back up provided by the rest of the Swaggies attack was aided by quite indifferent batting by their opponents, who seemed intent on playing the glory shots and not settling down to the task at hand.
Wanderers batted first and put 132 on the board for the loss of eight wickets, with Damien Smith 46 and Ryan Selkirk scoring the bulk of the runs, with Mick Hoffmann claiming four wickets and Shawn White two.
Six ducks and only one score above five (the ever reliable Craig Nichols with 16 not out) tells the sad story of Olympic Dam's effort with the bat.
Next week the Devils meet Rogues in Roxby Downs on Saturday morning.
It will be interesting to see what their reaction to the magnitude of this loss is, while Wanderes travel to Woomera where a victory will give them their best start to a season in some time.
